Waiting
Kerry said the other day, “Now I just need the strawberries to ripen. All I can do is wait.” The first part of that statement is certainly true, but the second…not so much.
Each day, Kerry checks the field for any strawberries that are red. The first berry went to granddaughter, Karalyn, who devoured it with delight and a huge grin. Today, instead of handfuls, Kerry found a few quarts, so we can say with confidence that there will be strawberries by the end of this week!
Of course, she is not “just waiting.” That wonderful, graceful lady never sits still. Quarts are stacked and read, the strawberry patch is walked daily, grass is mowed, pumpkins and gourds planted, and grandchildren kissed.
There is a lot to do while you are waiting! Check back soon. We will post when we have strawberries on the stand.
